Healing after abuse can feel overwhelming due to the emotional, mental, and spiritual trauma it inflicts on a person’s identity and safety. As a Christian counsellor, I emphasize that healing is a deeply human experience, supported by the Holy Spirit, and I encourage sharing feelings to navigate overwhelming emotions.
Healing is a complex journey of becoming whole again, embracing emotional pain, and rediscovering one's true identity. It involves acknowledging past experiences, allowing oneself to rest and rebuild with grace, and inviting a higher power into one’s brokenness. True healing restores hope and peace, while fostering community support.
Today, I share a personal journey of leaving an abusive relationship, detailing the pain and challenges I faced. Through self-discovery, community support, and healing, I emphasise the importance of finding your voice and freedom again.
